My Impressions:
Pros:
- Plug and play, easy, simple installation.
- Multiple modes to choose from performance to tow mode.
- Advanced tuning modes, for the experienced driver.
- Can adjust speed limiter, rev limiter, adjust fan, shift firmness, among other options.
- Internet up-gradable.
- Reasonable priced compared to competition.
- Able to read and clear diagnostic codes.
- Can make adjustments for axle & tire size, and adjust for speedometer error.
Cons:
Would like to be able to disable the anti-lock braking system, to provide for better performance off road.
Bottom Line:
After running the Edge Evo HT for some time with great results we upgraded our tuner to the new Edge Products EVO HT2 Ford F-150 Gas Part # 16050
Remember that the Ford Raptor comes from Ford MC with some build in performance blocks, 1 being the speed limiter. Note: The speed limiter is there to not exceed the speed limits of the oem tires, not the trucks top end speed. The truck can easily handle speeds above 100mph.
Like its predecessor this unit is also plug and play and is very intuitive to work with, but can do many more functions then the older version. Anyone can easily use this Edge product.
I currently have my truck tuned to the 87 octane mode, but I still run 91 octane, no ethanol gas for the best results.
Unlike the older version that didn't adjust for axle ratio and tire sizes, the new Evo HT2 among other options adjusts for axle ratio's and tire size. So if you are purchasing it to adjust for the installation of larger or smaller tire sizes this unit is definately for you.
Being able to adjust for axle ratios, and adjust for speedometer error lets your trucks transmission shift correctly.
The bottom line is if you want the maximum benefits that a modern tuner offers then the new Edge Evo HT2 is the tuner for you. This tuner does almost everything that I want a tuner to do, and that says a lot. My truck is getting the best gas mileage that I have ever seen since new, and that is saying a lot. If you are not running the new Edge Tuner on your vehicle you are missing out on potential hidden tuner benefits.
